At Maburra Collective, we believe our young people are our future leaders, knowledge holders, and change-makers. Yet here in Queensland, we face some of the highest rates of youth crime in the nation. The Queensland Government has responded with major initiatives such as the Kickstarter Grants Program and Proven Initiatives, aiming to trial new approaches that reduce offending and strengthen community safety.
While these programs are important, lasting change must also come from community-led solutions, from the ground up, with young people and families at the centre. Our youth are too often spoken about rather than listened to. Their voices, their stories, and their lived experience must guide how services are designed and delivered.
Our Youth Matter is more than a statement, it is our commitment. Through our support, services, and programs, we will:
We know that when our young people are supported by culture, community, and opportunity, they thrive. When their voices shape the design of programs, we create responses that truly work. And when healing is embedded at the heart of services, we build safer, stronger, more connected communities.
Together, we must take proactive steps now, so that our young people are not defined by statistics, but by their strengths, their dreams, and the change they will bring.

Our mission is to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, empowering them to heal, grow, and lead.
We are committed to creating safe, inclusive, and culturally grounded spaces where young people can develop healthy relationships, reconnect with education and employment, and find positive pathways forward.

Maburra Collective delivers programs that blend cultural knowledge with evidence-based practice. From healing circles and on-Country camps to restorative justice pathways, mentoring, and leadership initiatives, our programs are designed with young people, families, and communities at the centre.

Maburra Collective delivers programs that blend cultural knowledge with evidence-based practice. From healing circles and on-Country camps to restorative justice pathways, mentoring, and leadership initiatives, our programs are designed with young people, families, and communities at the centre.
Each program is guided by Elders, mentors, and practitioners who understand the importance of culture, connection, and community-driven change.

We measure impact not only by reduced rates of youth offending, but by stronger cultural identity, improved wellbeing, and greater engagement in education, training, and employment.
Our youth emerge with stronger relationships, healthier choices, and the confidence to shape their futures. Every story of transformation reflects the power of healing and the strength of community-led solutions.

Lasting change is only possible when we walk together. We welcome partnerships with community organisations, schools, government, businesses, and individuals who share our vision for stronger futures.
You can get involved by supporting our programs, volunteering your time, or contributing resources that help us expand our reach.
Together, we can ensure our youth know that they matter.
Maburra respectfully acknowledges the Wulgurukaba and Bindal people, whose land and sea we live and work. As collective of many voices that contribute to healing, we acknowledge all custodians of the land on which we journey, honoring their enduring presence, resilience and wisdom.
We pay our deepest respects to our Grandmothers, Our Mothers, Our Aunties and Our Sista’s whose strength will guide us in our collective responsibilities to heal self, our women, our young people, our families and our community.
